“Women are severely underrepresented on civic boards in the region. I lead a program called Appointed that prepares and empowers women to serve on civic boards and commissions. Board service gives women a seat at the table and the opportunity to influence important decisions that affect the communities in which they live.”

Carol Butler

“Serving on boards has strengthened my strategic thinking, expanded my network and relationships connecting me with leaders I admire while giving me access to different perspectives. I am able to create impact and legacy by leaving an organization in a stronger position for future growth while aligning with a mission beyond personal interests – it is a very rewarding experience.”

Nancy Grayson

"I have had the pleasure of serving on a wide variety of boards for nonprofit and religious organizations, county and statewide public commissions/boards, as well as a for profit startup company. These diverse experiences have not only strengthened my professional career, but have also expanded my network and ability to help influence change for the common good."
